On June 1st 2020, the MSME CHAMPIONS portal was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CHAMPIONS stands for Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength. The portal can be accessed at https://champions.gov.in. It is a one-stop place for MSME grievances and handholding of new setups in these difficult times. On entering the URL, the following screen will open and provide an overview of all the offerings of the new portal.
The tabs on the Home page is as follows:

The Home Page also has a ‘Click Enter’ blinking text. When that is clicked on, it leads to another page that will display the offerings.
The webpage shows all the Champion Steps. Each box can be clicked to address the issue that the MSME is facing.
Register Grievance
The following is the screen that will be displayed when the first box ‘Register Grievance’ is clicked on.
The same page can be reached from the tab ‘Your Grievances’ on the Homepage. The details required for this page are
- Select User Type – A dropdown list will appear with the following options
- Association
- MSME Unit
- MSME Employee
- Micro and Small Enterprise
- Government Officials
- Would be Entrepreneur
- Individual
- Others
- Name of the Person
- Address of the person
- Pin code
- State – Select from the dropdown list
- District – Select from the dropdown list
- Email id
- Mobile No
On filling all the details, the user will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on the mail or phone number. On inputting the OTP, the following screen will appear.
The user will now have to select the type of grievance from the dropdown list.
The next step is to describe the grievance. The maximum word count is approximately 600. The user can upload a file to support his grievance and tick on the declaration box, which states that the facts are true to the knowledge of the user. The verification code must be entered and the grievance submitted. A grievance number will be received, which can be used to check the status on the grievances.
Make Suggestion
The next box is ‘Make Suggestion’. On clicking the same, the following screen will appear.
The same page can be landed on by clicking ‘Your Grievances’ tab on the homepage. The details required are as follows:
- Please select one – Suggestion or Seeking Guidance/ Information
- Select User Type – A dropdown list will appear with the following options
- Association
- MSME Unit
- MSME Employee

- State – Select from the dropdown list

Your Ideas
The next box “Your ideas’ when clicked on, opens a new tab displaying the following. The user can View and Share Ideas and also look into the various schemes offered by the government to the MSMEs. The same can be accessed from the same tab in the Homepage.
View Status
The “View Status’ tab allows the user to verify the status of the grievance by inputting the grievance number and verification code. The same can be accessed from the same tab on the Homepage.
Official Hands
The tab ‘Official Hands’ provides the login for officers by inputting the credentials provided by Admin. On logging in successfully the user can access their dashboard where multiple actions can be done. The same can be accessed from the same tab in the Homepage
Resources for Champions
The next box leads the user to a separate page where the user can get support, look for mentors, get answers through FAQs and get all information regarding changes due to COVID 19. The page also provides information regarding Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan launched by the government in the wake of COVID 19.
Control Rooms
The next box ‘Control Rooms’ gives an overview of all the national and regional offices of the MSME department. This page can also be accessed from the same tab on the homepage. The offices are colour-coded as per category and marked on the Map of India.
Feedback
The next box is Feedback; the user can provide feedback on the portal. The following details are required for the same:
- Name
- Email id
- Mobile No
- Grievance Ref No (Not Mandatory)
- Feedback (Approx 300 words)
COVID 19 Manufacturing
The next box leads the user to a new page that requires details of Udyog Aadhar Number. The Udyog Aadhar Number is the identity of the business and can be obtained by filling the form on the Udyog Aadhar page. The same can be accessed by clicking on the icon on the top corner of the COVID 19 manufacturing page.
Register MSME Unit
The box leads to the Udyog Aadhar registration page. The user can register the business using the Aadhar number. The user can update the details, verify UAM, get reports giving statistics on the number of MSMEs sector-wise, state-wise, the investments, MSMEs as per the date of commencement.
Schemes/Acts/Rules
The next box opens at a new page providing all the information regarding MSMEs. The tabs on the page are as follows:

- What’s MSME – Details of enterprises covered under this and the criteria for the same
- Acts & Rules – Leads to India Code Digital Repository of All Central and State Acts

Startup Corner
The box leads to a page giving information about startups and how the user can venture into it. The page has a green tab which reads ‘Go to Start-up India’. This will lead to a page displaying the URL https://www.startupindia.gov.in/. The main page also provides a link for registering the MSME unit.
Advise Please
This page is for giving inputs on the topics sought by the Ministry. The user can provide the requisite details and advise the ministry on the topics. The same can be accessed from the homepage.

This provides links to all the Important messages.

The user can get all the latest news regarding the industry

Your Delayed Payment
The tab on the homepage leads to a page asking the user to go to https://samadhaan.msme.gov.in in case the user wants to file an application for delayed payments.
And to check status on grievances already registered on the said page which will lead to the following. The user can input all the basic details and fill the Grievance Form.
